戦前に基隆で生まれ育った父を連れ日本から訪れましたが水曜日は休館日のため内部を見学出来ませんでした。基隆タワーなど他の見学施設に合わせて月曜日を休館日にする良いと思います。なお、スタッフの方が非常に親切で休館だが外は見学可能と教えてくれました。基隆の人たちは親切な人が多く、とても好きな街になりました。

日本からお越しいただいたにもかかわらず、休館日のため内部をご覧いただけず、大変申し訳ございませんでした。せっかく基隆まで足を運んでいただいたのに、直接おもてなしができなかったことを残念に思います。休館日を基隆タワーなど他の施設と合わせるという貴重なご提案、誠にありがとうございます。今後の運営の参考にさせていただきます。次回お越しの際は、ぜひ当館の歴史的な建築と展示をごゆっくりお楽しみいただけるよう、スタッフ一同心よりお待ちしております。貴重なご意見をありがとうございました。

二二八事件係威權統治時期統治者大規模侵害人權之特定事件。民國36年（1947）2月27日臺北發生「緝煙事件」，基隆市因鄰近臺北，28日傍晚基隆市區已有軍民衝突，3月1日基隆戒嚴，市參議會舉行臨時大會，提出臺灣自治、經濟改革等方案。 2日解嚴，但軍警民衝突仍未止。8日下午，基隆要塞司令部以民眾迫近為由，當即槍殺9名民眾。9日，基隆再度戒嚴，國軍整編第廿一師四三八團開抵基隆港，重新佈署兵力，在瑞芳、金瓜石、淡水中學、八堵基隆中學等處分路鎮壓、攻擊民眾。至3月中旬，軍方以「暴動」或「通匪」之名，於基隆要塞司令部關押民眾，其中如郭守義、林註宜、陳清枝、簡錦文、陳雨田等5人就地槍決。 The February 28 Incident was a specific event in which the rulers of authoritarian rule committed large-scale human rights violations. On February 27, 1947, the "Opium Suppression Incident" occurred in Taipei. Due to its proximity to Taipei, clashes between the military and civilians occurred in Keelung City on the evening of the 28th. The Keelung Fortress Command was responsible for maintaining order. Martial law was declared in Keelung on March 1, and the city council held an extraordinary session, proposing plans for Taiwan's autonomy and economic reform. Martial law was lifted on the 2nd, but clashes between the military, police, and civilians continued. On the afternoon of the 8th, the Keelung Fortress Command, citing the approaching civilians, immediately shot and killed nine civilians. On the 9th, martial law was declared in Keelung again. The 438th Regiment of the 21st Division of the National Revolutionary Army arrived at Keelung Harbor and redeployed its forces, suppressing and attacking civilians in Ruifang, Jinguashi, Tamsui High School, and Badu Keelung High School. By mid-March, the military detained civilians at the Keelung Fortress Command Headquarters under the pretext of "riot" or "collusion with bandits." Among them, five people, including Kuo Shou-yi, Lin Chu-yi, Chen Ching-chih, Chien Chin-wen, and Chen Yu-tien, were executed on the spot.
