If you’re hunting for a taste of Lampang’s identity, this is it. The vibe? Think old-school noodle shop: no fancy décor, just wide open space, metal tables, fans whirring overhead etc. At Bun Yuen, everything revolves around their handmade egg noodles — springy, round, and chewy — not the flat style you might know from Chiang Mai. The broth? It’s a gentler, lighter curry, creamy yet mellow. None of that heavy, fiery punch from Chiang Mai’s version. Instead, it’s balanced, fragrant, almost comforting. For proteins, you’ve got options: • Beef: slow-stewed until it practically melts. • Chicken: the classic pairing. • Pork: hearty and satisfying. On the side, it’s DIY toppings: crispy noodles, fried garlic, chili oil, lime, and pickled mustard greens. I love tossing in raw shallots and plenty of lime — that zing cuts right through the creamy broth. And the prices? Pure nostalgia. Bowls start at just 40 baht.
