This rustic food shop is adjacent to Meeyai Steak by Looktao, marked by a large yellow sign with “Khrua Aharn Thai / Aharn Paa” in Thai. You can sit at their place — look for colorful tablecloths — or order their dishes from Meeyai (and vice versa). The chef is a sprightly elderly gentleman who has spent a lifetime cooking up Thai, Chinese, and Esarn dishes. A pity I didn’t take pictures on previous occasions: phad krapao, muu pa phad chaa, gaeng paa neua, tom jeud, phad si iew and laab muu were stellar. Snapped a photo of his phad kanaa muu krawb which happens to be one of my son’s favorite dishes. Crispy pork belly, flame-kissed kanaa, expertly tossed and seasoned. My son and I are definitely going back to try more dishes. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ฿1–100
