My favorite place in Doi Saket: it's almost good that it's only open on weekends or I'd be eating out too often. Koi and her husband run a peaceful and warm café and restaurant a reasonable walk or very short bikeride from town, or maybe 10-15 minutes drive off the main road from Chiang Mai if you're coming from there -- the coffee is excellent, the entrées are creative twists on Thai classics (there are Italian fusion options as well, I've heard of but not had any of them), and besides the fresh-cut fruit that sometimes just seems to appear on the table, I've enjoyed a number of fun desserts here...as well a batch of homemade cookies to take home, of course. (I noted the price-point at 200-350 Baht a person, but that's only because I always order coffee, meal, dessert, and cookies when I come. It's well worth the price here.) Friendly service, puppies playing in the beautiful garden, and plenty of covered outdoor seating with fans blowing on hot days -- hope you can visit Doi Saket over a weekend, you won't regret it.
