Tried bingsu at Kohojae in Lotte Mall, Seoul. It’s quite pricey with small portions. The red bean bingsu lacked flavor and the ice wasn’t as fluffy as expected. Mango bingsu was okay and used real mango, but overall the experience was disappointing for the price.

Kohojae was a great find- traditional Korean flavors done with real attention to detail. The Iced Americano was perfectly balanced and you could tell the ingredients were top-notch. The atmosphere was quiet, making it ideal for a relaxed coffee break. Nice spot to rest in Lotte Mall.

I stopped by Kohojae and tried their grilled rice cake waffle, and it was such a pleasant surprise. The waffle was made with chewy rice cake, lightly crisped on the outside, and soft on the inside. It was generously topped with roasted almond slices and soybean powder, adding a nutty aroma. The vanilla ice cream on the side balanced the warm waffle with its creamy sweetness. I especially loved the drizzle of condensed milk—it tied all the flavors together beautifully. If you’re looking for a unique Korean dessert with both traditional and modern elements, this is a must-try. It’s on a busy area so it’s a bit noisy. If you are looking for a place to rest - might not be a good fit.
