Kozhen Sushi Bar is a hidden gem tucked in a cozy shophouse setting. The space is intimate and unpretentious, yet the food is clearly premium, with a focus on air-flown ingredients and refined Japanese flavours. We tried a variety of dishes and were impressed overall. The Tokujo Nigiri with Torotaku Maki stood out, especially with the use of seasonal dry-aged fish, which brought out deeper umami and a noticeably silkier texture. The Kozen Don was indulgent, topped with foie gras, eel, fish, and roe—rich but well-balanced. Other highlights included the Hamburg Don and the Beef Wine Short Ribs, both hearty and flavourful. The Seasonal Chawanmushi was smooth and comforting - the Ankimo (monkfish liver) delivered a rich, buttery depth and the Hotaru Ika (firefly squid) was small but packed with intense umami. Overall, this is a low-key spot that delivers a high-quality dining experience. Definitely worth seeking out if you enjoy premium Japanese cuisine without the overly formal atmosphere. We tried their kozen mini tasting platter which was absolutely delicious! It consisted of premium assorted sashimi, premium assorted tempura, wagyu don , Uni & snow crab don with ikura, unagi and many more. We also had the Tokujo Nigiri with Torotaku maki came with aged nigiri that melted in your mouth. Their seasonal chawanmushi and beef wine short ribs also super satisfying. If you’re looking for quality Japanese dining, definitely need to visit Kozen. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $40–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
