Best pineapple tarts I had in a long time. Glad I found this tasty tarts after Sweet Mate in Everton Park closed a few years ago. The pineapple tarts are buttery and tasty with a delicious pastry without being too sweet or sour, great homely taste. It’s 29sgd for a big bottle of 40 pieces. They look very pretty as well so it’s a good choice for gifting. Price per person: SGD 20–30 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3

They are opened daily from now to 13th Feb 26. Pineapple tarts are AMAZING. Best eaten in bites, rather than popping the whole thing into your mouth Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

The simple joy in life is when one chanced upon some good food! And this time it's the Kwan Pastry at City Plaza! The shop is located at a very far end and at a corner so not easy to locate. I was attracted to a banner and the smell of the pastry. I'm always looking out for a good pineapple tarts and Kwan Pastry is by far one of the best I had. My friend's mum made the best pineapple tarts and I haven't found one that can replace hers. Kwan's come close. The pastry is very buttery and the fillings has a good balance of sweetness and tanginess. The fillings also has a good texture of the fruit. S$28 for a tub of 40 pieces. The cashew nut cookies (S$28 for 63 pieces) are also very good. Lots of cashew and I like that the nuts are not crashed too finely. The almond cookies (S$22 for 28 pieces) are good though my least favorite among the three. The almond cookies also came with chunk of nuts. The shop is run by the baker (an elderly lady) and helped by her son and daughter. Very friendly people. They shared that they are only opened on Fridays and Saturdays. You can sample their CNY cookies at the shop during this season. Outside of CNY, they sell homecooked food such as fried beehoon and ang gu kueh which the owner highly recommends.
