My wife brought me here to celebrate my birthday. It is a small, cozy place, and the counter seating is a nice touch since it allows you to watch all the action happening in the kitchen. The concept is Japanese-inspired Vietnamese food. To be completely honest, based on the glowing reviews, we expected a bit more from the food. The dishes were tasty, don't get me wrong, but they weren't quite "5-star amazing" when you weigh out the cost and the hype. However, there was one absolute standout dish. The chicken testicles (I kid you not), which was amazing! We are adventurous with food and normally love ordering rare and unusual items. Apparently, these are not always available and are flown in directly from Vietnam. The dish had great texture and complexity at the same time. I highly recommend it if you dare to try. The chef also uses a high-quality Vietnamese fish sauce throughout the menu, which really does make a massive difference in the flavors. The one major thing they really need to improve on is the pest issue. We saw a small cockroach crawl across the section of the counter where we were sitting, and spotted a couple more during our time there. For any dining establishment, that definitely needs to be addressed. That being said, they are in a really old building, and the pest issue may not be within their control. Overall, despite the critique on the price-to-hype ratio and the counter surprise, I still think it's worth a visit for the unique dishes. Price per person: SGD 100+ Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 2

When we were there, only the female chef was around. The food was incredible but it did take sometime for each dish to be prepared as the other chef was out. Price per person: SGD 80–90 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

Le’v is a rare intimate spot that delivers an exceptional izakaya-style dining experience. The food is outstanding across the board. The coriander salad is delicious and refreshing, a bright start to our dining experience. The wagyu pho stands out as a rich, comforting highlight—beautifully balanced and deeply flavorful. Incredible variety of seafood dishes, each prepared with care and a clear respect for freshness and texture. Excellent service and thoughtfully crafted dishes.
