Like a Tavern is one of those rare finds that instantly makes you feel at home. Tucked away in Kumamoto, this cozy spot has become one of our favorite go-to places — not just for dining in, but for comfort food that hits all the right notes. Their burger is hands down one of the best we’ve had in Japan — juicy, flavorful, and crafted with care. But the star doesn’t stop there. The Chicken Over Rice is absolutely delicious — perfectly seasoned, hearty, and satisfying. It’s the kind of dish you’ll crave again and again. And we can’t forget the cookies — soft, rich, and just the right amount of sweetness. They’re the perfect way to end a meal or take home as a treat (we always do!). The vibe is relaxed and welcoming, and the staff are incredibly friendly. Whether you're dining in or grabbing something to go, the quality and flavor are consistently excellent. If you're in Kumamoto and looking for a place that delivers on taste, warmth, and a touch of indulgence — Like a Tavern is a must-visit. We’re already looking forward to our next meal there!
