La Barra Spanish Tapas Restaurant in Cheung Sha Wan serves authentic, high-quality small plates in a casual setting. We tried the mushroom croquettes infused with truffle and were amazed by their thin, crispy batter and rich, creamy filling. Another must-try dish is the Fideuá—a traditional Spanish red prawn short-noodle dish similar to seafood paella. The noodles perfectly absorb the concentrated prawn and lobster-head broth, retaining a good bite without being overly dry or wet. For a sweet finish, the churros with premium vanilla ice cream are the best. The exterior is golden and crispy, while the inside remains hot, soft, and light. Ending your meal with this hot-and-cold combination really elevates the dining experience! Be sure to make a reservation since there are only about 20 seats. The intimate layout consists of four 4-person tables and one long bar counter that accommodates about 8 guests directly facing the open kitchen. Portions were small for the steep prices. Paella and other dishes were very different from the food in Spain. Basque cheesecake was good. I wouldn't say the food is bad, but for a restaurant that calls itself authentically spanish, it is quite a letdown. Meal type: Dinner Food: 2
