I was at la vida in april. The staff and owners were so friendly. It was my first experience with hostels and let me say i was positively surprised. All the rooms were kept neat and clean and there are a lot of activities the hostel provides. Even when i got offered another place to stay, they did not make a fuss about it and were really understanding. Would definitely come back! Service: 5

I was very disappointed with my recent stay. Management failed to inform me in advance that there would be ongoing renovations in my room. I booked a shared female accommodation, yet on multiple occasions, I returned to find men working inside installing vanity desks, which didn’t seem like an urgent necessity. When I raised my concerns, I was told that this was the only time the electrician could come, and that rooms were “usually empty during the day.” That assumption felt unfair, as this was not the case for me. Had I been informed in advance, I could have planned to be out during construction. The staff offered a room upgrade as compensation, but since I had only booked an extra night for a few hours of rest before my flight, this was not useful. They eventually provided a deluxe room (in mixed accommodation) and a cheesecake, but this did not address the inconvenience or discomfort I experienced. I felt resigned and decided not to argue further since I did not feel understood. I did not feel comfortable in my room since there were ladders, noise, and strangers entering a female-only space. I expected more professionalism and consideration from management, especially given the hostel’s highly rated reviews. The Wi-Fi was also very slow. Overall, I left unhappy and would not recommend staying here. Service: 1

We would like to clarify that we informed you in advance about the installation of a mirror in the female dormitory. The work lasted approximately 1.5 hours and was carried out during the daytime, including a female staff member present at all times. As you mentioned that you wanted to rest, we immediately offered you an upgrade to another room to ensure your comfort. In addition, we provided a complimentary cheesecake as a gesture of goodwill. At the time, you confirmed that the situation had been handled well. Nevertheless, we sincerely apologize if you still felt uncomfortable or not fully understood. Guest comfort and safety are very important to us, and we will continue to improve our communication and service. We wish you all the best for your travels.

The place is very clean and neat. Everything is in place and it seems that they even thought about all the small details - the bed which ia equiped with power sockets and places to put your stuff and also the shower rooms which has also plenty of convenient places to put your things. Location is greatly and really in the center of the old town, close to Sunday night market. The staff are so noce and welcoming and willing to help with whatever you need and so are the owners Hendrik and Chris who also make the best BBQ parties. Though everything is perfect I think the best thing about this hostel is the atmosphere and the people who go there. It is the best place to meet new people and socialize in a chill and fun way.
