If you love Mala Fragrant Pot (Mala Xiang Guo), this place is one of the more upmarket places compared to those you find at the shopping mall food courts. For about twice the food court prices, the food here is really fresh, with top grade ingredients, and a huge portion that could comfortably feed 3-4 pax. The staff will prepare and cook the food right in front of you, as you just sit back to gawk and salivate away... You can't help but silently count the seconds and make casual conversation, as the aroma whiffs into the air and tease your your hungry mind and growling tummy. Their Original Sauce has a beefy aroma, and is made up from an appetizing blend of traditional herbs that is simply oh-so-delicious! If you're in for a more spicy kick, their Ma La sauce is really fragrant, spicy, and numbing in equal measures of YUM! Their electric induction cooker is also easy to control, so you don't have to worry about running out of gas halfway (or exploding), and you can easily bring down the temperature to stop the pot from being overzealous in burning your food and special sauce. They also generously dish about cloves of shelled garlic that have a crunchy, macadamia nut-like texture, with a mild garlicky flavour. The only gripe about the place was that it can be a little cramp, and the staff will be a little spread out when trying to balance drink refills, busing tables, and cooking in front of guests. Overall, it's a great place for couples who want to pig out, or as a group who want to enjoy food in good company. :D
