If you are looking to escape the usual over-commercialized dining districts, look no further. We found this spot while seeking out some authentic alternatives, and it is easily the best Middle Eastern food I’ve had in Hong Kong. The Food: Authentic & Soulful The quality here is on another level. You can tell everything is made with care: The Pita: Made fresh right next door—warm, fluffy, and perfect for the dips. The Dips: Absolutely sublime. The flavors are bright, fresh, and authentic. Oxtail Tagine: A total showstopper. The meat literally melts in your mouth and the depth of flavor in the sauce is incredible. The Service: Genuine Hospitality The atmosphere here is warm and welcoming, which is a rare find. The staff are friendly and genuine, and the chef/owner, Tarek, is clearly passionate about his craft. He took the time to chat with us and even gave us an extra dish to try, which was a lovely, generous touch. The Verdict: With very reasonable prices and world-class flavors, Lamees is a must-visit. It’s authentic Jordanian food served with real heart. Highly recommended. Price per person: HK$350–400 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
