バンコクで最良のコスパを誇る北京ダックが楽しめる場所だと思います！ 中華街の店舗では点心が有名だということを聞いていたので、こちらでもいくつかオーダーしました。とても美味しかったです。素材がしっかり生かされていてボリュームも満点！ 北京ダックは最強でした。 味よし、値段よし、サービスよし、お勧めです。 ランチ時間でもそれなりに混んでいますので、足を運ばれる際はご予約をされた方が良いかもしれません。. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Potentially the best Peking Duck in Bkk, but with trade-offs. This is my 2nd visit. The first was with colleagues, this time with family. Both visits were specifically for the Peking Duck. The Food:. Overall, this is my go-to for Peking Duck in Bkk. The seasoning on the duck is phenomenal, have to give it to them. The sauce and condiments are perfect. I found the sweet and sour duck meat option quite satisfying (if you like it on the sweeter side). The fried duck meat with garlic option is very addictive(comes with bone bits). Both are top tier. That said, there are issues with food arriving not hot, which isn’t okay for a Chinese restaurant. Especially some dimsum, duck wrapper, and the duck itself. I didn’t have this problem on my 1st visit. On the flip side, the 1st time we struggled pulling the wrappers apart, and this time they’d solved it, kudos on the improvement. So there’s some inconsistency in quality, but also improvements. Service:. The staff were friendly and nice. However, it’s still quite behind fellow Chinese restaurants at other hotels around Bkk in terms of service and etiquette, kind of understandable given Laoteng’s lower price range. Which is consistent across both visits. But if proper training were given or improved + consistent QC, this would be a much anticipated improvement, as the food is already there. Especially with its competitive price range to some of those ‘chinese restaurants in bkk hotel’ contenders, if this and quality consistency issues were fixed, it would make Laoteng a banger for me. Taste:. Overall, dishes served here and the Peking Duck are my cup of tea. Not super oily, flavorful, a bit towards the sweet side, and umami. So if you share a similar tastebud, you might want to try it out. Seating & Vibe:. The private rooms are good, so they’re recommended. Seating outside is acceptable. Location & Parking:. Located in an old-style hotel, Arnoma. Good location since the road beside the hotel lets you exit without passing in front of Central World, which can get jammed during rush hour. Parking stamp available for 4 hours. Verdict:. I’ll definitely come back for the Peking Duck and a few favorites like the sweet and sour in a casual context. But for occasions needing a higher service and expected experience level, like celebrations or hosting guests, it might be skipped.
