Came here for a jazz assignment, and I got to say it’s really good! First, the dishes they served were amazing. There’s beef, nice potato fries, good mushroom-rice dish and hot buffalo wings. Oh, and you can also taste different kinds of beer—I didn’t really know how to distinguish them or comment on their goodness, but they’re pretty nice. Atmosphere’s great, though I’d like to point out they play Japanese music as the bgm. I think it’s interesting, since the livehouse has a bar-like feel more. The waiters and waitresses are nice. The vinyl-record design of the menu was fantastic—very photogenic and very cool. But most importantly, the live bands are wonderful. I got the chance to listen to Ted Lo, a wonderful local jazz pianist, along with his band mates. I liked how the music sounded, how the people bopped their heads to the beat and cheered for the band. It feels intimate, and I think it would be a great honor if I ever got the chance to perform there. Anyways, great place! Might be kinda expensive, but I promise you it’s worth the money and the experience. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $100–150 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Ran by professional musicians, live music gigs in Lau Bak Livehouse were always exciting; however the food there was not something interesting.
