Very rude staff. No complaints about the bread itself or the pricing, expected prices here to be higher than in Malaysia and wasn't expecting the taste to be exactly the same. What I did not expect was the poor customer service. There is a staff member at the counter — possibly a manager, as she dresses differently from the rest of the team — who is often on her phone while at the counter. On the occasions I've been served by her, she has appeared unfriendly, no eye contact, and almost no communication. Informed her that I was a member before making payment. After paying, I told her again I was a member. She told me that I should have informed her earlier. I explained that I had already mentioned it before paying, but she said she didn't hear me. What bothered me wasn't that she missed what I said. Mistakes happen. It was her reaction afterward. She gave me an annoyed look, made a "tsk" sound, and asked me to enter my phone number for the membership points. From a customer's perspective, I would have expected the cashier to ask whether I was a member before processing payment. If that isn't the store's procedure, that's fine. However, since I had already informed her and she simply didn't hear it, I don't think the situation warranted that kind of attitude. What made it even more frustrating was that adding the membership points afterward seemed to take only a few seconds and a few taps on the screen. It wasn't a complicated request, yet I was made to feel as though I was inconveniencing her so very much. Keep in mind, there was no line at all at the time of my visit! There are plenty of bakeries in Orchard with friendlier staff and better customer service. The bread here is decent, but neither the product nor the price is compelling enough to make up for the experience. If you enjoy the bread, by all means give it a try. Otherwise, there are many other bakeries nearby that will likely make you feel more welcome. Meal type: Other Price per person: $1–10 Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

I just visited this cake shop and had a very unpleasant experience with the staff. I saw a beautiful cake displayed at the front and asked a staff member to help me take it. The cake was already within easy reach and there were no cakes behind it, so there was no need to rearrange anything. However, the staff member immediately told me, “It’s impossible for you to buy the front cake. We must follow the procedure.” I then asked another staff member inside why the front display cake could not be sold. She told me that customers asking for the front cakes are “troublesome” because they would need to rearrange the display again. I explained politely that there were no cakes behind it and I was not asking them to move anything, but she still said I was creating “unnecessary trouble” for them and that it was the company’s rule. What upset me most was her attitude and tone. When I pointed at the cake I wanted, she looked very unhappy and spoke very rudely. When I asked for her name, she simply told me to “go ask someone else.” I was honestly shocked by how disrespectful the service was. I have visited many cake shops before, and I have never experienced staff behaving this way. Instead of feeling welcomed as a customer, I felt like I was being scolded for wanting to buy a cake. After reading the reviews here, I realized many people had similar experiences with the staff being rude. Very disappointing experience. I honestly do not feel comfortable coming back again.

Bought a cake that was still within the expiry date, but it had visible mold when opened. This is a serious quality and food safety issue. Please ensure better freshness checks before selling to customers. Food: 1
