I am always wanting to try new things since there are so many options in Hong Kong. This restaurant is in an alley, not on the main road. I actually missed it at first and then realized it was in the alleyway and found the entrance. I would say this is a place for smaller parties, maybe not a group bigger than four people since it is a smaller space. You can also easily make a reservation online. The team working at the restaurant were very warm and knew how to answer questions about any of the dishes. When I looked at the menu I wanted to try all of them. There was lots of variety on protein so I feel like if certain people don’t eat certain meats there are options for everyone. I went with one other person, and we got the salad, fried chicken, fish, ox tail, squid toast, and dessert. We were both full at the end. The salad pleasantly surprised me because I don’t usually order vegetables or salads at restaurants, but I ended up liking this one. The fried chicken paired with the sauce it came with was so good as well. I really appreciated how they were able to add the Cantonese/Asian influence into these dishes. It really showed that they thought about how they could make each dish unique. My friend and I shared each dish. I recommend sharing instead of ordering something just for yourself since the dishes were all tasty and I wanted to try all of them anyways, so it just made sense. My friend also said they just opened less than a month ago, which is exciting to me because this means their food will only get better as they fine-tune things down the road. Hopefully they add more dessert options because I love dessert haha. Price per person: $200–250 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Solo-dined the Lazy Menu for a 5-course meal (2 apps, 3 mains). My total came to $388, with $25 for water and a 10% service charge. Note that the water charge seemed included by default, but I wasn’t clearly informed upfront. One thing that made the experience feel a bit inconsistent: the Lazy Menu appears to vary depending on group size. Since I was a party of one, I was told I couldn’t choose my order and the set may not be the same as what a larger group would receive. I was also not informed what I was getting. That difference made it a little “odd,” because I would generally expect a consistent set when ordering the same menu concept. What I ordered (original prices): (1) Beef tartare ($118): subtle mala, with an interesting flavour combination. (2) Arancini ($88): my favourite! Chinese sticky rice + sausage, but with a crisp fried outer layer. (3) Caesar salad ($98): enjoyed it, especially with the hot sauce on the side and the you tiao + fried whitebait/dace touch for texture. (4) Fried chicken ($118): solid boneless chicken with a sweet, crisp skin; the buffalo sauce + fermented bean curd ranch pairing was surprisingly good. (5) Mapo Mac & Cheese ($108): a bit heavy for one person, but the tofu-mapo sauce and mac worked well together. Value-wise, if I ordered the same set with a friend, it would be closer to $265 per person so eating it alone felt a little less like a great deal, even though everything was pretty tasty and I liked the Canto-American fusion concept. However, if I knew what the Lazy Menu included earlier on, I would rather order à la carte instead. Price per person: $400–450 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

Lazy Suzy is anything but lazy! Every dish is a flavour bomb that has been lovingly crafted and cooked to perfection. There was not a single thing we tried that we did not like. Best advice to anyone looking to go: wear stretchy pants. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: $400–450
