Our stay at this hotel was overall mixed. On a positive note, we would like to highlight one very dedicated young staff member who truly made an effort. At the beginning, we were disappointed: the staff often seemed overwhelmed and slow – for example, a coffee we ordered only arrived after an hour. In the end, we were no longer able to accept it as we had to leave in the meantime. The rooms are functional; however, an issue reported with a leaking shower was not resolved throughout our entire stay. Cleaning takes place only every three days, and fresh towels are only provided upon request. In some cases, used towels were simply rehung. In addition, many towels were stained and should generally be replaced. We also often felt that the level of service lacked attention to detail: both the dishes from breakfast on the terrace and cocktail glasses by the loungers or pool were often only cleared away hours later. There does not seem to be a restaurant anymore, only breakfast served on a very small terrace, which we found rather uncomfortable. Important to know: the beach is very rocky and not suitable for swimming. However, the pool area is nicely designed. In addition, a deposit of 3,000 baht is required, which we were not informed about in advance. Next to the resort there is a beach club with music in the afternoon, which is also audible in the room – it did not bother us, but it is worth knowing. Overall, with the benefit of hindsight, we would not book another stay, as the value for money does not meet expectations and we are used to significantly higher standards in Thailand. The staff were aware of the circumstances and at least accommodated us with the bill for the drinks.

A Hidden Gem – Azul Beach Resort and Restaurant We haven’t stayed at Azul Beach Resort and Restaurant, but we’ve had dinner here several times – and each time has been a delightful experience. The restaurant is a cozy little beachfront oasis, serving well-prepared, tasty food in a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the overall vibe is calm and personal. The beach cottages look clean, charming, and are located right on the sand – a perfect setting for a peaceful holiday. Highly recommended for a lovely dining experience and – judging by what we’ve seen – a quiet and well-kept place to stay by the beach. Service: 5
