Earl Grey Tea Michi Pudding Overall impression: The concept is quite interesting, and using Earl Grey tea as the filling is not something you see very often. That said, the overall result is fairly average and not especially memorable. --- Earl Grey Tea Michi Pudding $15 Rating: (3/5) The filling is quite generous and has a creamy texture, so the presentation and idea do show some effort. Unfortunately, the mochi part is not chewy enough, and the texture is fairly ordinary, so it doesn’t quite deliver the layered mouthfeel you’d expect from a “michi pudding.” There is a light Earl Grey aroma, but the flavour itself is not very distinct, so it doesn’t leave a strong impression. If the filling were served a little colder, it would feel more like a refreshing dessert and would probably be more suitable for summer. For $15, it’s not a bad buy, but if you’re expecting a mochi dessert with a strong memory point, this one falls a bit short.
