I’m quite pleased that the porridge here tastes different from other porridge stalls. Some places serve rice with soup added, while others serve porridge that isn’t cooked down enough—you can still taste the individual grains of rice. This one, however, is very well done. That said, my first visit wasn’t perfect. Even though I paid an extra 70 cents for an egg, it wasn’t added. Fortunately, I gathered the courage to speak up and got my money back. Otherwise, I would have paid for something I didn’t receive. On my second visit, I ordered claypot frog and plain porridge. The claypot frog took an agonisingly long time to arrive, and I was quite stressed because I needed to return to the office on time. When the food finally came, it was extremely hot, and I had to rush to eat it. I ended up burning my tongue several times while trying to finish my lunch quickly. I had also requested for it to be non-spicy, but it was served with a lot of chilli. After eating it, I perspired a lot and felt very uncomfortable and “heaty” afterwards. The staff were also quite persistent in asking customers whether they wanted add-ons like egg, you tiao, or meat, which felt like they were strongly encouraging upselling. At one point, I asked why the fish porridge was quite expensive. The male stallholder responded that if something is delicious, one should not focus on the cost, and that we are paying for quality food. I personally felt that the response was quite uncomfortable, as I was simply asking a genuine question about pricing. I do not need a lecture from him. When customers raise concerns about cost, it does not necessarily mean they are unwilling to pay, but rather that they are trying to understand the value. Not every office worker has the same financial situation, and price sensitivity varies from person to person. I would prefer if such questions could be answered in a more neutral and respectful way, without making customers feel pressured. Overall, the food quality is good, but the service experience, order accuracy, waiting time, and communication could be improved. Meal type: Lunch

Used to be really tasty till they diluted the taste of the chicken stock or seasoning. It's pretty ordinary like the rest of the other porridge now. I won't patronize them again. Meal type: Lunch Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2 Recommended dishes: Chicken Congee

Had a hearty breakfast this morning. Ordered their pork and century egg porridge. Very comforting taste and you tiao (which comes with it) was crunchy, though a bit on the oily side. Quite a good generous amount of ingredients. Overall, decent and nice bowl. Will come back and eat again. Meal type: Breakfast Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
