It’s always a pleasure to return to Lisca Beach, and an honor to chat with Franxesco, the host and owner of this small seaside restaurant. The attention to detail and the quality of the food are, in my opinion, unmatched in a country like Thailand, where Italian cuisine in many restaurants is often just a variation on the theme and loses its authenticity. The seafood spaghetti in tomato sauce was exquisite—a true gastronomic excellence that would rival the best restaurants on the Amalfi Coast. Two hours flew by while enjoying a delightful conversation with Francesco, covering a wide range of topics in an extremely pleasant and constructive tone—something quite rare these days. If we want to use a somewhat overused, even cliché expression, yet still a fitting one, we could say that Lisca Beach is a “place of the soul,” not to be missed by anyone staying on this beautiful island—certainly among the most unspoiled in the kingdom, even though it has now become a well-established tourist destination.
