However, the service is known for being surprisingly warm, with Vietnamese staff who bring a touch of authenticity to the hustle. The Standouts 1. Bun Cha (BBQ Pork with Rice Vermicelli) This is the undisputed star of the menu. The Meat: A generous mix of fatty pork belly and pork patties, grilled to order. It carries a distinct smokiness and a slight char that provides a "sinful" but delicious flavor. The Sides: It usually comes with a crispy fried spring roll that reviewers rave about—it's packed with black fungus and meat, offering a satisfying "crunch" in every bite. The Balance: Served with a tangy dipping sauce (nuoc cham), fresh lettuce, and pickled carrots to cut through the richness of the grilled meats. 2. Tucked away in a corner of Food Republic foodcourt at the basement of Shaw House, Little Hanoi is easily reachable, given its walkable distance, via an underpass, from Orchard MRT Station, office buildings and malls in the vicinity. Its menu has something delightful to ignite and satisfy every palate, any time of day. Whenever we swing by FR foodcourt from time to time, be it with family or friends, we naturally gravitate towards and make a beeline for this Viet stall...#6 Bún Chả (Viet Style BBQ Pork with Rice Vermicelli), #1 Beef Pho and #9/#10 Fresh/Fried Spring Rolls are our must-order trio! The Bún Chả at recent visit deserves 5*! This simple yet tantalizing dry noodle dish - served with fresh ingredients and grilled to perfection - always delivers a symphony of flavors! It comes sans broth, keeping the toppings intact and from becoming sodden. The smoky grilled, tender pork belly slices, crispy fried spring roll, and small pork patty, paired with delicate rice vermicelli, crunchy veggies and a hint of savoury-sweet-tangy-spicy from the soup, dipping sauce, herbs and chilli, create a harmonious and mouthwatering dining experience. Good ambience past 2.30pm. If you're in the locale and craving for authentic Vietamese food at affordable prices, check Little Hanoi out. Where possible, visit off-peak hours.
