I recently visited Lobster Une in Sai Kung and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. The restaurant has pleasant decor and the staff were not explicitly rude, but the visit was heavily marred by misleading promotions, slow service, and poor food quality. We decided to dine here because a promoter outside offered a buy one get one free deal on beers, plus 20% off (8折) our bill on top of the 128 HKD set meal. Before sitting down, I checked the beer prices with him. The menu showed Beck's at 68 HKD and Peroni at 98 HKD. Once seated, I tried to order Guinness but was told it was excluded. I switched to Peroni. The server informed us that the promotion had to be ordered per person, meaning four beers for the table. I asked them to bring two first so they would not get warm, which they agreed to. We waited 18 minutes for the beers and eventually had to remind the staff to pour us water, as our glasses were empty. When the Peroni arrived, we were told it was from a fresh keg, but it tasted stale and watery with absolutely no head. Later, I wanted to try the Beck's for our remaining two beers. I was informed this would incur an extra 98 HKD per person and would not be included in the promotion. The staff then explained that the base price for the promotional beers was actually 138 HKD for Peroni and 98 HKD for Beck's, rather than the prices listed on the menu outside, which they claimed were for single beers only. It felt less like a buy one get one free offer and more like buy 1.4 to get 0.6 free. The food service was also very slow, despite the outside tables being entirely empty. Our crab stick salad and sweetcorn soup arrived first. The salad was edible but nothing special. The soup was incredibly peppery and otherwise bland, and we could not finish it. My dad's chorizo pasta arrived 10 minutes later. It tasted like standard dried supermarket pasta with a shallow, overly sweet sauce and a laughable amount of chorizo (as you can see in my photos). I waited another 21 minutes for my main course, the American style ribs, which required a 50 HKD supplement. The portion was tiny: just five ribs (not even half a rack), exactly five waffle cut chips, two slices of cucumber, and a lemon wedge. There were no typical BBQ sides at all. The meat itself was dry, tough, and tasted oddly sour. I would honestly prefer supermarket-bought ribs over this. Dessert arrived 20 minutes later. We were told it was unlimited, but it had an unpleasant artificial, plasticky flavour, so we did not get any more, despite not being very full. We also decided to skip our included tea and coffee because we just wanted to leave. When the bill arrived, the promised discount was missing. I went to the counter to ask about it, and the woman claimed the offer was only for selected tables and times. I politely reminded her of the promoter's offer at the door. Noticing other customers looking towards us, she made a shushing gesture with her finger to her lips, agreed to apply a discount, but stated it was 12% off (88折) instead of the originally promised 8折. I accepted the change and will give the promoter the benefit of the doubt that perhaps I misheard him, but the communication around pricing was highly misleading across the board. I also noticed another table returning their truffle spaghetti, which was poured into the bin before they received a replacement, so it seems we were not the only patrons unhappy with the food. Our total bill was 563 HKD after there was an added 10% compulsory service charge. While this is not an extortionate price for Sai Kung, the false advertising and subpar food made it terrible value. I would highly recommend checking reviews for nearby competitors before choosing to dine here. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: HK$500+ Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3

The 4xx seafood paella is in fact NOT a paella but just a Cha-chaang-teng style baked seafood rice served on a baking dish with a marked up price. Same goes for the ribs and pork and pretty much everything else - small portions, overcooked, appalling quality. Not to mention that the food comes late, missing orders, and... I don't think more needs to be said, we felt really stupid walking in. I guess the chairs and tables look alright, but thats probably the only part worth mentioning. Probably a nice place if you're a cat, or a plant. You've been warned! If you're one of us who didn't check the reviews before subjecting yourself to this torture, come and join us down here in the review section.
