MAIKO Haaan! !! BURGER is pretty near Nishiki Tenmangu. In accordance with the visitors' opinions, waiters serve perfectly cooked wagyu burgers here. My wife and I had walked about 20 km around Kyoto and decided we wanted burgers and colas. We are Americans who love trying international takes on burgers. These burgers were some of the best I have had ever. I ordered the kobe beef burger, which was like a divine experience. The burger had a rich buttery beef texture that melted in my mouth. Every American in the Kyoto Nishiki area would absolutely love the burgers here. The food was fresh and hot, and quickly prepared for the freshness of it. So, the service was also a high quality. The only reasons the atmosphere is 4/5 is that the vibe is sports bar, but the screen only replays old footage of Shohei Ohtani and the LA Dodgers. The tables were also small for a 183 cm person and a 152 cm person, but we are used to that in our travels, so not a big deal. Maiko Haaan!!! Burger was honestly one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve had in Japan. The service was absolutely terrible – staff looked completely disengaged, like zombies going through the motions. The burger itself? Tiny. And nowhere near worth the hype or the price. I’ve had far better burgers at Hungry Jacks, which says it all. Then came the “side” – about 10 cold chips. Not even warm. Just sad. To top it off, the beer was served in a plastic cup for a meal that cost $55. Seriously? Total rip-off. Would not recommend.
