I rarely give 5 stars for any category let alone for food (to be 5 stars , it must be one of the best if not the best!) - this bak chor mee (BCM, minced meat noodles) stall, is a MUST try! Well balanced sauce with chili, black vinegar, lard/oil (oh! the tasty lard! crispy, fresh oil with a tinch of garlic fragrance), soy sauce, etc. (maybe some secret sauce!) coupled with bouncy noodles (cooked by experience and "feel" and not with a timer to ensure it will not be under or over cooked), make this bak chor mee one of the best! Unfortunately, it will only be 4.999999999infinity because I like my BCM with... ketchup (that this stall does NOT have!) - sue me for not having a pure BCM standard but food is all about personal taste and like... So, if ever you visit this stall and see an old uncle with a bottle of Heinz ketchup next to his BCM, it's me . Also... The owner, ah Tan and his partner are very friendly and cheerful, so much so that even if you don't like BCM (they also offer fishball noodle), you should still patronize their stall just to soak in their warmth! Fantastic attention to detail. They put the raw fresh liver in the serving bowl. Heat up the soup until it is bubbling and then pour the boiling hot soup into the serving bowl. This equates to perfectly cooked liver. Fantastic! Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $1–10 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes: Minced Meat Noodle, Bak Chor Mee

This minced meat noodle stall is one of three MacPherson Minced Meat Noodles stalls found in Singapore - it is helmed by the brother-in-law (who goes by the name of "Ah Hock") of the original purveyor ("Uncle Yap"), with the latter running a stall in Potong Pasir, and the latter's disciple running a stall at Tai Thong Crescent. IMHO this stall in Bukit Batok is ranked between the disciple's (which I rank the best) and the OG. And the stall owner here is such a friendly person and ever accommodating. The dining ambience here is quite comfortable even though it is in a non-airconditioned setting and if you are here between peak hours.
