Had lunch there last Saturday and was so glad there was no line despite it being the weekend beforw LNY. I read so much about it and hoped it didn't disappoint. It didn't. We ordered only 2 dishes. The oyster omelette and the beef away teow with bittergourd. Both were good gyt the oyster omelette (pictured) stood out. Crisp, flavourful and a generous portion of oysters made up this dish. There isn't much service to rate here since you ordered and paid at the counter and someone brought you your food. The place is clean and conducive for conversations even though more and more customers turned up. Will go again! Had a really satisfying meal at Maddie’s Kitchen and was genuinely impressed by both the food quality and portion size. We ordered the $25 large Hokkien Prawn Mee, and it was absolutely worth it. The portion was generous, loaded with prawns, and the noodles were beautifully coated in a rich, flavourful broth with strong wok hei. The smoky aroma and depth of flavour really stood out, and it wasn’t overly greasy at all. You can tell it was cooked with proper technique and experience — definitely one of the better Hokkien prawn mee I’ve had. The prawn paste chicken was another highlight. Crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and perfectly seasoned. The prawn paste flavour was bold yet well-balanced, making it very addictive and a great pairing with the noodles. We also had the prawn ngoh hiang, which was well-stuffed, nicely fried, and packed with flavour. It wasn’t overly oily, and the freshness of the ingredients came through clearly. To round out the meal, we ordered vegetables, which were cooked simply but well, retaining their freshness and crunch. A good balance to the richer dishes. Overall, Maddie’s Kitchen delivers comforting, well-executed local dishes with generous portions and consistent quality. The strong wok hei really sets the Hokkien prawn mee apart. Definitely a place I would return to and recommend to anyone craving solid, no-nonsense local food done right. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: SGD 40–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
