If you’re a fan of bold flavors but want a comfortable, budget-friendly dining experience, Mala Kungfu at Bedok Shopping Complex is a fantastic neighborhood find. The Atmosphere & Timing • Perfect Sunday Slot: Visiting around 5:00 PM on a Sunday is a smart move. While many popular eateries are already starting to see dinner crowds, there was no queue and plenty of seats available. • Comfort Factor: Unlike many open-air Mala stalls, this spot is fully air-conditioned, which is a huge plus when you’re about to eat something spicy. It’s clean, bright, and a great place to cool down. The Food Experience • The "DIY" Selection: The process is straightforward—you get to select your own items from a wide variety of fresh meats, seafood, and vegetables. • Pro Tip on Customization: The spices here are very powerful and aromatic. I highly recommend asking for less oil and no MSG; the natural kick from the peppercorns and chilies is more than enough to carry the dish without the extra additives. • Incredible Value: This is where Mala Kungfu really shines. A huge bowl packed with ingredients came out to only $15—which was more than enough for two people to share. Compared to some mall chains where a similar portion could easily hit $25–$30, this is exceptional value for money. Quality mala at decent price, the food is legit with good selection of fresh ingredients averaging at about $10/pax. Also have a good selection of kitchen dishes but have yet to try but from we saw from other patrons every plate was cleaned which is quite clear what that means! Special mention for the drinks too at very reasonable prices! A big 600ml bottle at only 5.50 - 6.00 / bottle. Definitely a good place for a chillout, Chinese and beer if that's your thing :) Cheers! real hidden gem. :) friendly service and very reasonable prices for mala xiang guo, tho the alacarte menu is typical restaurant prices. very delicious, adequately spicy and numbing.
