Mallika R.E 124 has an interesting atmosphere and there are plenty of little shops selling nostalgic food and items. I liked the overall idea, but the place could use more decoration in some of the older houses to make it feel more complete. The ticket also felt a bit expensive considering you end up buying things inside anyway. It was still worth seeing once.

This place was absolutely gorgeous, from the grand entrance to the little market shops. It really felt like stepping back in time. The food in the restaurant was cooked in clay pots and tasted delicious. They had traditional drinks like rosella and chrysanthemum juice. There was a beautiful lake surrounding the grounds. The entrance ticket also came with a discount on food or drink. I would highly recommend coming here to learn about traditional Thai customs and enjoy the gorgeous architecture.

Mallika R.E. 124 was such a fun and unique experience in Kanchanaburi. We rented traditional Thai costumes and changed on site, which really added to the atmosphere. Walking around the recreated old Siamese town dressed in period clothing made it feel immersive and memorable — perfect for photos and just enjoying the setting. The grounds are beautifully maintained, with traditional wooden buildings, gardens, and small shops that reflect life in the Rattanakosin era. It’s well organized and easy to explore at a relaxed pace. A great cultural stop, especially if you want something interactive and different from the usual sightseeing spots.
