I visited this place after hearing it’s a hidden local gem. I tried the Celery Boiled Dumplings, Chili Fried Dumplings, and Yuseul Jjamppong Rice, plus an extra order of Crystal Shrimp Dim Sum. My favorite was definitely the Celery Boiled Dumplings. It has such a unique fragrance and was the perfect starter! The Chili Fried Dumplings were also tasty, though I wish they’d come out after the celery ones to keep the flow of the meal better. The Yuseul Jjamppong Rice was refreshing—it had a subtle mala kick and wasn’t greasy, so it paired perfectly with the dumplings. The Shrimp Dim Sum had a nice, silky starch wrapper, but it was probably the least memorable compared to the other amazing dishes. They have a lot of traditional Shandong-style dishes on the menu, so I’m planning to try their stir-fry next time instead of dim sum. This Chinese place is Korean in all but name. It’s been on TV; that’s why people come here. Classic Korean fried rice made with soggy short grain rice and Korean flavour profile. Mandu sautéed Korean style in far too much oil (they are basically deep-fried), and even the damned dipping sauce doesn’t taste of Chinese soysauce and chinkiang vinegar. It’s 10,000 won for a common fried rice. Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3
