Over the last year and a half I’ve been to this place more than 30 times, and I recommended it to many friends. The food is genuinely excellent — especially the steaks. Unfortunately, the service is consistently terrible. The staff can’t explain the menu or help with choices, and the menu itself is hard to read and confusing. The attitude from the waiters often feels dismissive rather than welcoming. One example: the restaurant was closing at 11 PM, and at 10:50 the staff were standing right over our table watching us, which made us feel rushed and unwanted — and that’s after being regular customers for so long. My last visit was the final straw. I ordered a steak that came undercooked. I asked for it to be cooked more, and about 10 minutes later they brought back the same steak on an extremely hot plate — so hot that I burned myself just by touching it. I asked the waitress what I was supposed to do, and she simply shrugged and walked away. The owner happened to pass by; I asked him to touch the plate to see how dangerously hot it was, and he reacted the same way — just shrugged. Eventually the owner replaced the plate with a normal one, we finished our meal, and left. No one apologized. I’ve never experienced this level of disrespect, especially in Thailand. I don’t understand why customers are treated this way. I truly loved the food and used to recommend this restaurant, but after this experience I won’t be coming back.

We visited Mario’s Swiss Garden in Phuket for the second time today. The first time we had typical Swiss dishes, and this time we tried the beef bourguignon – it was absolutely excellent, even better than in Switzerland. Highly recommended for anyone who is craving a taste of home while enjoying a tropical atmosphere. We will definitely come back! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
