The Mutton Biryani was the standout. The mutton was succulent and slow-cooked until tender, absorbing the rich blend of spices beautifully. The rice remained fluffy and separate, with each grain packed with flavor. The dish delivered depth and warmth without overwhelming heat, making it one of those biryanis that keeps you coming back for another bite. Overall, both biryanis showcased excellent spice balance and quality ingredients. If you’re visiting, the Mutton Biryani is the must-order, while the Chicken Biryani is a great choice for those who prefer something lighter. Great experience in this eateries where you can taste authentic Indian dishes and some Chinese food. Prices are reasonable and the service is very friendly. It's located conveniently a few doors away from the famous Katong Red House. Opposite Roxy Square, Katong Holiday Inn Hotel. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Masala Tandoor on East Coast Road is a wallet’s best friend; generous portions, fair prices, and a menu that doesn’t skimp on variety. The chefs clearly cook with heart and a whole lot of masala. You can taste the passion in every bite and feel it in every bead of sweat. The food leans boldlike, “wake-up-your-sinuses” bold. It’s not bad, just intense. If you’re someone who thinks “mild” is a personality flaw, you’ll be right at home here. For the rest of us, maybe ask them to go easy on the spice dial. Still, hats off to the kitchen crew. They’re not afraid to bring the heat, and that kind of confidence deserves respect. Just maybe bring a lassi or two for backup.
