Menu photos are super inaccurate. Nothing soy or garlic about the soy garlic chili chicken. It’s pretty much straight up chili flavor that’s poured on top of the chicken. It’s not coated. Our sauce was bright red, not the dark coloring the menu shows or that soy is supposed to give. There also no spice mark next to the sign- yet I was told by staff this is spicy when I questioned what sauce we had. Japchae was ok- had oily/buttery flavor and otherwise didn’t taste like much. Kimchi wasn’t my favorite, but prob would have enjoyed it more if it balanced the flavor of the chicken. Instead it was the similar flavor and I could barely eat any. I love Korean food and especially Korean fried chicken - so I really wanted to love this place but honestly can’t recommend it. Price per person: HK$100–150 Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3

For the price it charges for a seafood tofu soup, it is only worth 20 HKD. You don’t even get full for a 138HKD dish. Food: 2 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 2

Two weeks after our dating anniversary, we returned to the same spot near Central Market to explore new dinner options. My husband, celebrating his 10th year of quitting smoking, was eager for something exciting, so we opted for Korean cuisine at MATJEOM, just around the corner from the Japanese restaurant. On our first visit, the shop assistant recommended the Matjeom Garlic Jokbal (Pork Knuckle) for two, a steal at $280 (promotion valid until September 30, 2025), served with a generous tray of seasonings and kimchi. The mashed garlic stood out with its sweet honey undertone, a refreshing twist compared to the garlic on Chinese noodles. My husband savored every bite, and we both enjoyed the Tofu Seafood Pot with rice—its soup was perfectly mild, letting the fresh seafood shine and delight our taste buds!
