Had breakfast at Maya restaurant while my stay at Sofitel Krabi. This restaurant has good ambience and service staff is very helpful, huge shoutout to Ashish and Pure, tries a lot to make up for bad food while serving customers. But the most important part of any restaurant is food and it's nothing short of pathetic. All the Indian food options were stale and heated frozen parathas and curries. Vada had too much oil, idli was badly steamed. When I am eating at a brand like Sofitel, I would not expect to eat food that was cooked 1 day in advance and then served after heating in the morning. If it was only for Indian food, I'll give 1 star. Restaurant has very limited vegetarian options apart from Indian food and those other options are slightly better than Indian food but that's understandable as Thai food doesn't have lot of vegetarian options. They cook decent eggs, and have good fresh fruits hence the 2nd star. Considering a good amount of Indians and vegetarians visit this property and it's the main breakfast restaurant at a high-end resort, hotel management should rethink their strategy about serving stale food. Meal type: Breakfast Food: 2 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Vegetarian options: Decent amount of veg options in terms of Indian food but all of it's stale and doesn't taste good.
