Ate desert from both stalls in changi village that sells red tea longan. this stall is in the middle row while the other is closer to the bus interchange. here is the review: Mei Lin Yin Pin's red tea longan is not as sweet and flavour is not as strong and outstanding as the other one. but if you took some time to slowly taste it, there is an after taste that is very mild which i have no other vocab to describe other than 'brings back memories'. To many, (myself inclusive), we are trying to get a quick fix in changi village and the two stalls' red tea longan are both nice, most would have preferred the stronger tasting one near the bus interchange. but if you took time to slowly taste the two, you would realise that 1. the mild after taste of Mei Lin Yin Pin is very unique while the other one taste more like bandong. 2. the texture of the jelly from Mei Lin Yin Pin is slightly firmer and smoother compared to the other stall. for a quick fix, the stall at the bus interchange gives a stronger taste and many would find it better. but for those who served the 1 cdo bn before, this stall gives a much stronger taste. It reminded me of the days spent in camp, its the desert from heaven. Also of the days when i went to changi village as a uni student with my friends to have this desert. memories make a dish taste better if you allow yourself time to enjoy this desert... the ice is one of the smoother ones around like the old days. I cannot help but imagine what it would taste like if they changed to the milky ice shavings used in taiwan or korea. (too much imagination)
