ordered half a chicken for lunch for 2 pax on the 7th day of CNY. end up getting chickens without the drum stick.. the chicken looks does not look fresh and looks like overnight chicken from the day before.. it seems like.. they mixed all the overnight meat together to form half a chicken portion.. disappointed.. will warn others if they are looking to eat chicken rice in whampoa.. Millennium Hainan Chicken Rice @ Whampoa Makan Place is my top pick and yes, owner Stephanie is Hainanese! :-) The QQ rice is extremely fragrant, yet not oily. And the white chicken is sooo juicy and tender. Bonus: Self service chicken soup refills and great garlic chilli with thick dark soya sauce.
