I was invited to Monkey Bar for a friend's birthday last week. I didn't know the place, as it is quite new on Koh Phangan.
I had a tasty dinner: a delicious Thaï dish with chicken and basil, and then some Basque style chicken with rice. The drinks (we had Mai Tai cocktails) were well mixed, the atmosphere was laid-back and fun, the music was dynamic, and the owner, Nico, who I didn't know before, was very friendly and welcoming.
The view is gorgeous, too, as the restaurant is set on top of a hill and you can see the ocean from there (there are some stairs to climb to reach the restaurant). Perfect spot for a romantic dinner at sunset, to my opinion. Thanks Nico, I will be back in a few months when I come back to Phangan, for sure! Keep up the good work!
