Movida Bangkok, a newly opened tapas restaurant in Ekkamai, offers a chic atmosphere and friendly staff with a solid, well-priced wine list, but despite some highlights like the Carrillera de Buey (tender beef cheek in Pedro Ximénez) and the rich ganache with ice cream dessert, many dishes underdeliver the Paella de Senorito lacks the expected crust and flavour, seafood dishes such as Cangrejo and Crudo (yellowfin tuna with aji amarillo, pomelo and basil) suffer from questionable odd pairings like hollandaise that feels more breakfast-like, the Som-O in Crudo was bitter and overripe, and while the Cangrejo's saffron sauce works, the crab meat is watery, service is warm but needs training, and ambience elements like music and lighting still feel unbalanced - overall, worth a try if you’re curious and have a bit to spare, but it doesn’t break into Bangkok’s top-tier dining.
