If you’re staying in Khao Lak, do yourself a favour and visit Mr Bao’s! We found this absolute gem while staying at the Mai Khao Lak Beach Resort, just walk down to the beach, turn right, and stroll about 300 metres. So worth it! The food was hands down the best Thai we had during our stay in Khao Lak, fresh, flavourful, and beautifully cooked. The cocktails were a 10/10 (seriously, don’t skip them), and everything was incredibly well priced. What really made the experience though was the people. The staff were some of the loveliest, most accommodating we’ve come across! So warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. And the sunset view absolutely incredible. Watching the sun go down over the beach while enjoying dinner and cocktails made the whole experience feel extra special. Add in the stunning beach setting and relaxed atmosphere, and it’s the perfect spot for a sunset dinner. We ended up going back 3-4 times! Highly, highly recommend! Visited Mr Bao Family Restaurant frequently to eat, drink, buy ice-cream & also rented a scooter with my son James. One day rental 300 baht, thoroughly enjoyed the day exploring Khao Lak and rode up to the Ferry Terminal 24kms there and back& nearby visited the Tsunami memorial. Very moving and a time to contemplate the disaster all those years ago.We stayed at the nearby TUI Mai Khao Lak Resort & Spa which was absolutely fantastic. As I write this, it is my last full day in Khao Lak and I definately will be back again......very soon I hope. Kind regards Mark Evans
