A classic old-school chicken rice spot with a nostalgic atmosphere that feels very local and authentic. The steamed chicken was smooth and tender, and the kang kong was nicely cooked with good wok flavour. Soup was simple but comforting too. Service was efficient despite the dinner crowd, and the restaurant had a lively vibe. Only downside was that the place can feel a little warm and cramped during peak hours. Overall, still a satisfying meal and worth coming back for. Price per person: SGD 10–20 Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3

It's been years since i last ate here. I was pleasantly surprised that it still tastes really good! The roast chicken was tender and tasty, the rice was sufficiently fragrant. They also provided big bowls of tasty soup which we enjoyed. I liked that they placed the sauces at every table so we could help ourselves to it. Considering the fact that they have been here for so many years, I was also impressed that the place looks sufficiently well maintained. If you want to reminisce the good old days and experience the vintage/ traditional coffeeshop feel, this is a good place to be! Walk along the stretch of shophouses for 5 mins, and you'll get to Nam Kee, which is nestled next to a Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf cafe. Decor ************. The interior decor of Nam Kee Chicken Rice Restaurant is nostalgic and retro, featuring a traditional kopitiam aesthetic. ️ The walls are lined with 1960s' era glossy white and blue ceramic tiles. There are traditional kopitiam tables and chairs, alongside wooden booth seating. The overall feel is vintage vibes and the ambience is reminiscent of the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. Food **********. I ordered these for takeaway: ________________________________. Chicken rice x 2 packs ️ SGD5 per pack Breaded Pork Chop x 1 pack️ SGD12 For the chicken rice, I requested chicken breast meat with no skin and no bones. ︎The chicken broth infused rice was aromatic, fluffy, and lightly oily, while the breast meat was smooth, tender, and moist, making it delicious to eat. The breaded pork chop was well crafted too --- crispy and golden on the outside, yet succulent and juicy on the inside, making it a satisfying add-on to the meal. Overall, this is a comforting takeaway meal from Nam Kee. The dishes were well prepared, and hit the spot as a scrumptious meal. Service = The service staff were pleasant, helpful and polite.
