The oxtail bulalo soup is on the sour side. The broth is quite clear refreshing. Apart from the oxtail and beef cubes, a decent amount of veggies are served, but I personally feel they are still a bit raw. The restaurant has no air-conditioning, so can be hot sometimes. MODEST FARE Nanay's Kitchen presents a modest yet uneven showing. The marinated fish arrives without the expected depth, its seasoning barely permeating the flesh, though the garlic rice offers a fragrant and comforting counterpoint. A plate of fried vermicelli carries agreeable flavour, if slightly weighed down by oil. Seafood elements, particularly squid and prawn, suffer from a chewy texture and muted taste, lacking the sweetness one hopes for. Still, the experience is lifted by genuinely warm, attentive service that lends a welcoming air. While not without merit, the kitchen’s execution leaves room for refinement and greater clarity of flavour.
