For a hearty breakfast during my Namhae trip, I did an open-run right at 8:00 AM to visit Nanhyang, a hidden noodle gem in Namhae. The effort of waking up early was completely rewarded the moment I stepped inside, as the savory aroma filling the air and the owner's warm welcome instantly melted away the fatigue of travel. The dried pollack kalguksu I had here was absolutely phenomenal. The milky, deeply boiled broth from the dried pollack boasted an incredibly clean yet profoundly refreshing depth, making it the ultimate comfort food to soothe the stomach early in the morning. The noodles were also wonderfully bouncy and chewy, offering a delightful texture. The side dish line-up that paired with the noodles was a masterpiece in its own right. The freshly made kimchi delivered a crisp, spicy kick that complemented the rich broth beautifully. But the absolute showstopper was the crunchy pickled radish enhanced with a subtle citron aroma; creatively incorporating Namhae's famous local citrons was a stroke of culinary genius that maximized the refreshing flavor. Throughout the meal, the incredibly kind owner kept constantly refilling our side dishes, making me feel the heartwarming generosity of a home-cooked meal. If you are searching for a perfect breakfast spot filled with local charm and refreshing flavors in Namhae, this place is an absolute must-visit.
