Ironic that I had lunch a stone’s throw away from the neon pigeon at a location the crowd at neon pigeon will look down upon but at least the food during lunch didn’t disappoint and the servers were so attentive. I felt our patronage was being endured by the NP servers who found every opportunity to rush us to order, finish our food and please leave because another party is coming “literally in 10 mins”(before 8pm). Yet when we were outside at 8.01pm, we happened to glance back into the restaurant to see that our table was still vacant. The music was way too loud and we had to raise our voices to chat (wait isn’t that against pandemic measure restrictions?) Should I start to nitpick on the food? Taste is subjective and our palates had been spoilt by much better food served elsewhere. The shisho leaf in my cocktail? I wonder if it was too dark for the bar staff to notice it’s not fresh & please don’t scare me and confirm it had been recycled. I was enjoying my drink at first thinking wow, not achingly sweet only to discover someone forgot to stir the syrup coagulated at the bottom of the glass. No straws were harmed during the consumption of this drink because I didn’t get one nor a stirrer. Guess that’s an upside for we don’t have to worry about the environmental impact of marine life from single use straws or stirrers. Today’s experience is so disappointing I actually had to make an effort to share my thoughts. Perhaps it’s not you, but us for not being that non discerning crowd you prefer.

We were rushed throughout our dinner. The next seating starts at 8pm and we were pressured to order food once we sat down. Waiters were walking past our tables, constantly checking their watches. Seriously?? We had to tell them that we know we still have xx mins left! At 7.35pm we wanted to order a last dish but we were told there wasn't enough time. There were so many wrongs in this dining experience, service staff here lacks training in how to deal with these situations tactfully. Oh, and how was the food? Just like the service - mediocre. It was meant to be a birthday celebration and NP totally ruined it for us.

Dear Belinda Boh, Thank you for your feedback regarding your dining experience at Neon Pigeon. We have a 90 minute dining time for all tables up to 5 pax. We understand this confirmation message was sent to you upon your booking, on the day off and was also communicated with you by our hostess at the door before you were sat. Our team had no intention to rush through your dining experience however they simply wanted to ensure that you were informed about the time left for your dining period, so we could turn the table in time for our next reservation who has also secure their booking. This is indeed something that we implement as part of mandatory practice in our venue as most other restaurants in Singapore. However, its is unfortunate and i do extend my apologies that you did not have a great experience that we had hope for.
