Super worth it! Huat ahh! I thought the $1.90 portions would be smaller, but they were actually even bigger than what I usually get outside for a higher price. Over my expectation! Really value for $$$. Having tried some lousy $2.50 chicken rice in Tiong Bahru, which only gives you bones and bones, this $1.90 is worth it! Portion is very generous and definitely more than enough for young kids, elderlys or ladies with smaller appetite. I bought 2 packs of roasted and 1 pack of soy chicken. If you are lucky like me, you might get DRUMSTICK MEAT. Yes, drumstick meat. For $1.90 you have drumstick meat! I added on $2 roasted meat and $1.50 char siew. Char siew is just so so but the roasted meat is not bad. Crispy skin as well. Overall, this place is highly recommended, amongst the rising expenses in modern SG. Tried the famous $1.90 chicken rice at in Ang Mo Kio. Honestly, for the price, it’s hard to complain. Portion was decent for under $2, rice was fragrant enough, and the chicken was acceptable though not super memorable. Definitely more of a value-for-money meal than a “must travel for” kind of chicken rice. Feels like the kind of place you go when you want a cheap and filling meal without expectations being too high. Respect for keeping prices affordable in 2026 though.
