Pork Larb and Isan Gang Bamboo Shoots for lunch. The gang had a very earthy, slightly bitter, grassy, and earthy flavor often described as herbal from yanang leaf juice. It gives the dish its characteristic greenish color that balances the sharpness of bamboo shoots and the pungency of fermented fish sauce. Pork larb is a northeastern Thai and Lao minced pork salad, known for its balance of spicy, sour, salty, and earthy flavors, brightened with fresh herbs like mint and basil. Both meals were served with sticky rice. We also got an Isan sausage appetizer. The Isan sausage has rice noodles in it! The staff were very polite and friendly and went out of their way to explain items on the menu to us.
