Chef’s table with all of the flavor and creativity, none of the snobbery, of “fine dining”. This incredible little restaurant punches far above its weight in creating and sharing a story with food— a story of the chefs’ careers and journeys, of local products and of feeling like home. While reservations need to be made far in advance, the cozy dining room and atmospheric music and art, as well as feeling like every explanation is being made just for you while the chefs are perfectly plating what looks like choreography but cannot possibly be planned ahead. Every course is fresh, unique and exciting, portions are enough to go back to things you love without becoming uncomfortable over the course of the evening. And the beverages! The cocktails are creative and the wine list is funky and fun, just as you would hope it would be. In short, delicious, locally sourced, interesting food with seasonal and international influences and effortless service make this my favorite special occasion spot in Bangkok, but also a favorite to recommend to visitors and friends. What an heartwarming place! I love when the proverbial 4 walls, a room, a restaurant, become alive. I think it is magical and rare to find. When you can sense the care and the passion in everything that is surrounding you. The will of sharing something that is personal, felt and therefore truly unique. The hospitality goes beyond standards and is nothing short of a friend welcoming you home. The cocktails are neat and intense, we also enjoyed sipping on a black rice sato that paired beautifully with the menu. The sourcing for the drinks, as for the ingredients that take part in the tasting menu, is remarkable and shows once more care, not only for what is brought to the table, but also for the environment. The menu is mindfully composed, the flavors are balanced, rich and bright, as we can often taste in Japanese cuisine, but also deep, loud and honest as we can find in Thailand. Every dish is a display of creativity and techniques all while keeping taste at its core, genuine yet elegant. Different parts of ingredients returns along the menu showing skills and intent to respect the product. I'm not one for the "experience" when it comes to eating out. At Nothing Sacred I had stunning food, tasty drinks, a dip in music that felt like Pink Floyd's Pulse and hospitality that felt like a communion, ironically a sacred experience.
