(4/5 Stars) An Industrial Cafe with a Standout Sweet Conclusion Located amidst the industrial, factory-style backdrop of Kwun Tong, Nutmad offers a relaxed brunch setting with some surprising highs. The Savory Courses: I opted for the Piggy Carbonara Spaghetti and the daily special, a Thai Iberico Pork Patty with a wrap. While the ingredients were adequate, the execution of the savory dishes was somewhat ordinary. Both plates were perfectly acceptable for a standard brunch but lacked the technical distinction or flavor elevation needed to make them memorable. The Sweet Conclusion: The absolute highlight of the meal—and the primary reason for a return visit—is the French Toast Tiramisu. This dessert demonstrated a remarkable mastery of flavor balancing. The tableside pouring of warm espresso brought the entire dish together; the robust bitterness of the coffee cut perfectly through the rich, sweet elements of the toast and cream. The resulting harmony of flavors on the palate was exceptional and earned a definite "wow." Verdict: While the savory mains are standard cafe fare, Nutmad is well worth a visit for its ambiance and the highly executed, flawlessly balanced French Toast Tiramisu.
