The newly revamped Bedok Marketplace have been turned into a retro yet hippy food hunting ground. Oji egg fried rice is one of the stalls offering high quality fried rice as well as their new offering, salmon sushi. Fried rice, being their signature dish, offered us plenty of choices in terms of ingredients. Premium egg fried rice must be the most extravagant fried rice I have tried, consisting of pork chop, salmon and tiger prawn. It was huge in serving, with the fried rice chewy and fragrant. Ribeye was tender and juicy and mala salmon fried rice was equally flavourful and chewy, spicy in taste. Through a casual chat with one of the owners, they are increasing the selection for their salmon series. For their roll, they will soon have mentaiko and spicy aburi as well. Chirashi bowl was chewy and fragrant, with salmon fresh & sweet in taste and ikura flavourful. Salmon roll was chewy and oily and texture, with wasabi enhancing the taste. Meal type: Lunch

Mentaiko Chicken Katsu Egg Fried Rice ($7.9 w GST & Service Charge) Not bad! Especially since its freshly fried for both the Katsu and rice! Would be perfect if there's those lava egg or omelette egg on top of the rice! Portion of rice is quite big or because I'm not very hungry so I wasn't bale to finish the portion. Waiting time depends on what you order, I have friends who ordered before me but I got my food before them. I think the price is pretty reasonable, but I wouldn't think its value for money. Will order again, something else, if I'm around the area. Meal type: Dinner

I am not impressed even though the pictures look nice. Unnoticeable garlic taste for a garlic fried rice. I dun even taste the egg flavour or 蛋香味 of a fried rice. If I die die have to name a saving grace, it will be oozing egg yolk but still not impressive. Mentaiko was just a spread on top of the chicken katsu n it was not burnt. Nothing to shout about, period.
