HOWEVER, the place was very unhygienic! We noticed cigarette butts by the window, ashes on the sofa as well as an ashtray lying on the floor. It is obvious that the staff smokes within the premises which mind you, has a kitchen and a factory where they make their own beer. But that's not the worst part, we were shocked when we peaked behind one of their curtains and noticed a huge mess of what we think were food, cutleries and rubbish all piled up with flies swarming around! It was disgusting.
That's not all. When we went to the toilet, there were toothbrushes/paste, shower soap lying around and there was also a horrible stench coming out from one of the rooms with clothes hanging all over, shoes and socks all over the floor. We then realised that there might actually be people staying there cos it felt like a worker's dormitory! I'm certain that's not only unhygienic, but illegal. It was a bad experience but due to the good food and beer, we decided to give it another shot as we were nearby. To our dismay, it was the same or maybe worst. Still as dirty and messy and while we were dining, there were also 2 other guys constantly walking in and out of the factory space and shouting across to one another, with no regard of our presence as customers. There was also very loud noises coming out from the factory and we could hardly hold a conversation so we left for somewhere else.
I can't comprehend how the owners can allow something like that to happen as well as relevant authorities not to take action. I've never seen an establishment like this in SG before and its such a shame as they put in so much effort for their delicious food and beer only to let themselves down with such an environment. I don't think my friends and I will compromise on basic hygiene standards and a conducive dining environment. The food and beer might be good but god knows what goes into them and how they are produced. Also wont want to dine in what seems like a workers dormitory. Wont be back again!
