平日のランチで利用しました。ビジネスランチでほぼ満席でした。突然のメール予約でしたが、すぐに折り返しの電話をいただき、丁寧でフレンドリーな対応に好感が持てました。前菜・メイン・デザート、それぞれの料理にちょっとした工夫が施されていて、とても美味しくいただきました。最後のデザートでは満腹状態でしたが、たいへんお得なランチだと思います。

We’ve been dining at Origin Grill for years now, and have easily visited more than 10 times, with reservations made under either my name or my husband’s. We’ve celebrated birthdays, anniversaries, and have also come by for spontaneous date nights whenever we felt like treating ourselves. It’s become one of our favourite restaurants. One thing that surprised me was reading another review that described the ambience as poor. We genuinely enjoy it here and actually consider Origin Grill a hidden gem. We appreciate that it strikes a nice balance between being refined without feeling overly formal—somewhere between casual and fine dining, which suits us perfectly. The service has also generally been very good. While it sometimes seems that the managers naturally gravitate towards engaging foreign guests in conversation, that has never really bothered us—we’re not particularly big on small talk anyway. We’ve had the pleasure of being served by Brandon and Yatin, and on our most recent visit, Yatin gave us an excellent dessert recommendation that we thoroughly enjoyed. That said, our dinner last night fell a little short of the standard we’ve come to expect. We ordered the Little Joe ribeye, among several other dishes. When it arrived, it was unfortunately burnt rather than simply well grilled. We understand that Origin prides itself on its grilled dishes, but there is a clear difference between a nicely charred crust and meat that smells and tastes burnt. The steak also appeared to be made up of smaller pieces put together rather than a single, whole 300g cut, which was disappointing. We had ordered it medium-well (perhaps not the choice most steak enthusiasts would make, but it’s how we enjoy our steak). Yatin was very apologetic and immediately sent it back to the kitchen, which we appreciated. Around 10–15 minutes later, a replacement was served. While we were grateful for the prompt effort to make things right, the second steak was unfortunately rather bland. We’ve ordered the Little Joe many times before and have always enjoyed it without needing any sauce, so we’re unsure whether the quality of the cut has changed or whether the seasoning was affected in the rush to prepare a replacement. Despite this disappointing main course, the foie gras was beautifully done as always. We also absolutely love the sourdough served here—please don’t ever remove it from the menu! It’s genuinely one of our favourite parts of the meal. One small request as returning customers: we’re quite sad that the crab cake recipe has changed. We thought the previous version was significantly better, and we’d love to see it make a comeback one day. If I were reviewing based solely on last night’s experience, this would probably be a 2- or 3-star review. However, that wouldn’t fairly reflect our overall experience with Origin Grill. The many wonderful meals we’ve had here over the years are the reason we’re still giving it 4 stars, and we sincerely hope last night was simply an off evening rather than a sign of declining consistency. Finally, thank you to Yatin, and to the younger gentleman whose name I unfortunately didn’t catch, for looking after us so well. Your attentiveness and professionalism were very much appreciated.
