I am writing to express my disappointment regarding an incident that occurred at one of your outlets during approximately 2:00 AM (8July) Our group consisted of four people (two males and two females). Upon arriving, the two females took a seat while the two males approached the counter to ask whether coffee was still available. Your staff informed us that coffee service had already ended and that only pastries on the left side of the counter were available for takeaway. We then returned to our friends and sat together for less than three minutes to discuss whether we wanted to purchase any of the remaining pastries. During this time, we were simply deciding what to buy. To our shock, a male staff member came out from the kitchen and began speaking in Malay, apparently assuming we would not understand him. He repeatedly made disrespectful remarks, including words to the effect of, "Didn't buy anything and just sit there?" He continued speaking in an insulting manner while we were still deciding whether to make a purchase. We had not caused any disturbance, and we had only been seated for a very short time. Your CCTV footage will clearly show that we remained there for less than three minutes before leaving because of how uncomfortable and unwelcome we were made to feel. This type of behaviour is completely unacceptable. Customers should never be spoken about or treated disrespectfully, especially while they are still considering a purchase. Regardless of your store's closing procedures, there is no excuse for staff to make insulting comments about customers in any language. I respectfully request that PAUL Le Café investigate this incident by reviewing the CCTV footage and speaking with the staff on duty at that time. I also hope appropriate action will be taken to ensure your employees maintain professionalism and treat all customers with respect. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
